Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

PROFILE The Electrical and Electronics Department was established in the year 1999. The power packed EEE department inspires Electrical Engineers with the innovative idea in various areas of Electrical Engineering.

Activities

Our students presented technical papers and exhibited project works in various Technical symposiums.. We take our students on Industrial visits to various places like Neyveli power station, Mines I & II, Tuticorin Thermal power station, Mettur Hydel & Thermal power station, coimbatore Lakshmi mills, Pabanasam pumped storage power plants etc.

Acheivements

Our department produces 90% results in board exams. Mote than 50% of students secure first class with honours.

Lab Facilities

Electrical machines Lab
It consists of Induction Motor, synchronous motor, single phase transformer, Oil testing kit, single phase and three phase auto transformer, DC motors, DC generators, Alternators, 2point, 3point, 4 point starters. Kits for control of Electrical Machines Lab. 62.5KVA Genset and all equipments as per ‘L’ Scheme Syllabus.
Electronics Lab
Equipments for Electronic Devices and Circuits Lab & Digital Electronics and Linear Integrated Circuits Lab as per ‘L’ Scheme Syllabus. The major equipments include Linear & Digital IC’s and Trainer Kits, consisting of CRO’s Trainer Kits.
Controller Lab
The equipments include 8085, 8086 micro controller kits, DAC card, Stepper motor, DC motor control, interface card, LED, LCD interface card.
Power Electronics & Drivers Lab
It consists of Connector kits, Triggering modules of CR, RC & UJT, Chopper kits, cyclo-converter kits, single phase induction motor drive control using IGBT chopper, Microprocessor based firing control for AC voltage regulator.
