M.A.M. family is a well known family in Rayavaram, (Google map,Location Map) an ideal village, in Pudukkottai district. The sons of Thiru. M.A.M. Subramanian chettiar are renowned industrialists in south India. They are known for their business acumen and concern for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden.

With a vision for the development of education in this rural area of Tamilnadu, They formed M.A.M.Subramanian chettiar Educational Society registered under Tamilnadu societies Registration Act, 1975. They are successfully running S.KT. Gandhi High School, in Rayavaram for the past 43 years. In 1981 they prevailed up on the Government to open a full fledge Hospital providing the necessary infrastructure facilities. They are still involved in the activities of the Hospital which is proving to be a boon to the public in this part of Pudukkottai District.

The institution celebrated its silver jubilee on 20th sep,2008.Honb'le P.Chidambaram was the chief guest. Shri Karumuttu T.Kannan, Managing Director, Thiyagarajar mills & Dr.V.Ramachandran, VC, Anna university Tiruchirappalli felicitated.

In addition, they have been rendering financial assistance for social causes and also to a number of student to pursue their studies. Rayavaram is well connected with the District Head Quarters and there are number of schools in and around Rayavaram. They have established this polytechnic in the year 1983 to bring quality technical Education to the rural youth of Pudukkottai District. They have taken all efforts to the student to get the best possible training. The institution is proving to be one among the best few self financing polytechnic colleges.

This Institution has been selected for replication of Canada India Institutional co-operation project since last year and has been imparting training to student & Rural youth on various trades.
