M.A.M. family is a well known family in Rayavaram, (Google map,Location Map) an ideal village, in Pudukkottai district. The sons of Thiru. M.A.M. Subramanian chettiar who are well known for their business acumen & Philanthrophy, formed M.A.M Subramanian chettiar Educational Society in the year 1983. They were instrumental in starting PHC in Rayavaram by providing necessary facilities. With the aim of bringing quality Technical Education to the rural youth of Pudukkottai Dist, they established this Polytechnic College with Civil, ECE & Textile branches in the year 1983 with an intake of 180 in first year. The college in now offering Diploma in Civil, ECE, Textile, EEE, Computer & Mech. Engg with an intake of 420 in first year. The Management have taken all efforts to provide upto date infrastructure facilities to enable the students to get the best possible training. The college is proving to be one among the best few self financing polytechnic colleges.
Based on the good
performance, the college has been selected for replication of CIICP activities and has been imparting training in various fields to the rural youth and students for the past 6 years.
The Management
are also running two aided schools, S.K.T. Gandhi High School & S.K.T. Gandhi Elementary School in Rayavaram.
